THIS WEEK’S PRIORITIES:
1. CALIFORNIA RECALL
2. VACCINE MANDATES
#1. CALIFORNIA RECALL — Voting ends 9/14 for the No on the California Recall campaign. It’s time for a final GOTV push to protect California from turning into Florida or Texas. We also need to protect the Dem majority in the Senate. Vote NO on the recall so we keep California Blue.
Sample Messages:
“Vote NO on the recall. Protect our state from getting an anti-democratic, anti-women, anti-science governor who could reverse the gains we’ve made on protecting our kids from Covid.”
“Vote HELL NO on the recall. Let the Radical Right know we won’t help their power grab in California.”
#2. VACCINE MANDATES — President Biden unveiled a new plan for vaccine mandates and increased testing. Biden vowed, “to protect vaccinated workers from unvaccinated workers.” The majority of Americans are vaccinated and support these mandates. According to Dan Pfeiffer, we need to do three things:
- Make Republicans the face of Covid and the Delta variant. Assign them responsibility for the lack of vaccination and the resulting deaths.
- Lean into vaccine mandates.
- Entice parents with message that critiques Republicans and touts the Biden Admin’s efforts to control the pandemic. Kids are the most vulnerable group and parents want to see leadership that protects their kids.
Sample Messages:
“Vaccine mandates have been around for decades. Students are typically required to receive smallpox and polio vaccine, and it only makes sense to require the coronavirus vaccine as well.”
“Vaccine mandates have been around since George Washington required troops to be inoculated against Smallpox. Protecting Americans with vaccine mandates is as American as it gets.”
“Be part of #VaccinationNation and protect our kids and families!”
