24 hours left to flip this red seat blue

1 min read

With Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the White House, adding strong Democratic allies in the states is more important than ever – and our first major chance to do that is tomorrow.

Iowa voters will be casting their ballots for an open state Senate seat in less than 24 hours. This is a tough battle in a deep-red district, which means we need to work even harder to mobilize ahead of this race.

After defeating Trump and toppling Mitch McConnell’s control of the U.S. Senate just weeks ago, Democrats CANNOT ignore opportunities to go head-to-head again with Republicans. This is our chance to lay the groundwork for the midterms and get back to flipping state legislative seats blue – and the only way we can do that is by moving now.

Republicans are assuming an easy win in this red-leaning seat – but our Democratic candidate, Mary Stewart, is used to tough fights.

Mary is a former educator who is ready to fight back against extremism and put her community first. In fact, she came just 800 votes away from flipping this seat blue in 2018 – and she’s determined to finish the job this time around.

But the special election in Iowa is tomorrow, Jake, so if we want to make our move, now’s the time to do it.
