VOLUNTEER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN LAST WEEK
It is crazy to think that we are less than a week away from November 3rd…Election Day! Of course, we have been participating in Election Month and over a third of Charleston County voters have already cast their ballots!
With that said, we still have work to do. As we have discussed for the last few weeks, we want to reach as many voters as possible between now and Election Day, so be sure to sign up at chsdems.com/2020. Phone banking and lit dropping are going strong, but we can still use all the help we can get! We still need a number of volunteers to help us finish up lit-dropping in the next few days. Also, we have thousands of phone bank calls to still make! Phone banking is a vital way to check in with voters and get out the vote!
Also, we need volunteers to place campaign signs up at polling sites on election day (to prevent the signs from being stolen the night before). You can pick up a sign bundle (15-20 signs) at the CCDP office beginning Thursday, October 29. Contact Mimi Dias/Steve Grenier at office@charlestondemocrats.com to sign up for one or more polling sites or to receive more information.

SATURDAY IN-PERSON ABSENTEE VOTING & ELECTION DAY VOLUNTEERS
CCDP needs energetic, enthusiastic, outgoing volunteers to help at early in-person absentee locations AND on Election Day! Our volunteers will cheer on voters, encourage them to stay in line, and provide them with the Voter Protection Hotline number. Our volunteers will also be reporting back to CCDP on any poll wait times as well as any voting day issues. Our volunteers will remain outside of the polling location at the 200 foot mark from the door.
You can access all of the different locations to volunteer this Saturday (10/31) and/or Election Day below.
SIGN UP TO BE AN ELECTION VOLUNTEER
We will also engage and educate voters after they vote on Vote Tripling, to help increase voter turnout simply by texting their own contacts. People are more likely to vote when their friends tell them to. Rigorous experiments have shown that a GOTV contact from a friend increases a voter’s chance of turning out by 3-5 percentage points. That’s larger than the average impact of nearly any other turnout method — larger than phone banking, texting, mail, pledge cards, etc.
If you do nothing else, please contact your friends today and get them to pledge to triple their vote by reaching out to 3 friends!
