Dear Friends –
Today, October 5, is the last day to register to vote for the November election in Florida.
If you haven’t done so yet, please take a moment to check with your friends and family to make sure they’re registered to vote, or that their registration is up-to-date if they moved recently.
Anyone can check their voter registration status by going to www.checkmyballot.miami and entering their name and date of birth. The site will also tell you if you’re signed up to receive a Vote-By-Mail ballot, whether it’s on its way yet, and where your precinct polling location is.
If you find out you’re not registered, or that your voter registration isn’t up-to-date, you have until midnight tonight to update it online at www.registertovoteflorida.gov. Be sure to have your driver’s license or state ID ready; you’ll need that to register online.
And if you want to sign up for a Vote-by-Mail ballot, it’s not too late to request one! Get started at www.votefromhome.miami. It’s great to have options: whether you vote by mail, vote early at an Early Voting site from October 19 – November 1, or vote in person at your precinct polling location on November 3, the important thing is that you exercise your power in our democracy.
One of the best feelings in the world is helping someone to register to vote or update their registration. Won’t you take a moment to check with your family and friends to make sure they’re ready to vote?
Thanks for all you’re doing. Let’s make these last 29 days till Election Day count.
