Hi everyone!

OMG! It’s only Monday and SOME VENTURANS HAVE ALREADY GOTTEN THEIR BALLOTS! If you’ve been waiting to get involved in GOTV (Get Out the Vote) efforts, now is the time to jump in!But first – today’s events as we know them.tinyurl.com/Antiracist-events-Ventura

12:30 pm – Poor People’s Campaign – Call for Moral Revival, is inviting us all on a Moral Monday Caravan. For us here on the left coast, it starts at 12:30. Go here to sign up. https://actionnetwork.org/events/national-moral-monday-caravans-and-digital-march-on-mcconnell

Tonight is chock-full of competing great events.
Proposition discussion: From 7:30 – 9:30pm, the Economic Justice Committee of the ACLU is holding an online discussion of CA Ballot measures 15 (Schools & Communities First), 21 (Rent Control), and 22 (Independent Contractor Status). Our voter guide, coming out momentarily, shows some conflict here, so this should be interesting. Sign up here: https://occidental.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_i6VVrYl8Qte6VRDjb4JV-A

League of Women Voters Forum: Partially conflicting, (AAUGH!) is another of the great series of League of Women Voters forums, which is in two parts tonight.

From 6:00 – 7:15 PM, you can here candidates for the Santa Paula City Council – Co-hosted by Santa Paula Chamber of Commerce. (Register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_RBGkVWv-QZOuN87oQD5kow)

From 7:30 – 8:45 PM, you can here from the two candidates running for for V.C. Supervisor District 5 – Tim Flynn and Carmen Ramirez; (Register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_wb7cw0RaRXuIH)EzRHWacnw)
If you can’t decide, know that the League forums are all carefully videotaped and available to watch later here. (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLa73GDALFEMoMmYv5GGAObLxt86nLTwEz) We don’t know about the ACLU webinar.

There are phonebanking and textbanking events every day! GOTV no longer includes having to get lost in some strange city, walking on hot sidewalks, climbing steps, and the waiting, waiting, waiting, for someone to answer the door. You can now help from the comfort of your own home, with a cat or dog “helping” you and providing moral support. Don’t worry, there are videos and training sessions to help! Remember, this is new for everyone, there are no grades, and this will not be on your permanent record.

Our minister of postcards is ordering 3000 more, you still have time to do this too! Join our postcard campaign – we’re north of 20,000 now! Wanna help? Email “I WANT POSTCARDS” to indivisibleventura@gmail.com.

If you have red-state friends and family on your digital rolodex in the cloud, please ask them to pile on calls to their GOP senators to pass the newest version of the HEROES Act. Take a moment to send an email of thanks to our own representatives to thank them for their continued efforts to help desperate people survive this pandemic.
Heads up, people. We got this!
