The Voter Guide: Two ways you can help

In 2018, Democrats just like you were able to recapture the US House of Representatives because they were informed, motivated, and passionate. We need that same winning combination in November for the most important election in our lifetime – not only for the presidential race but ALL down-ballot races that, frankly, will have an even more profound impact on your day-to-day life. That’s where our Voter Guide comes in.

Cultivating an informed electorate is what the Voter Guide is all about. It helps voters get to know the down-ballot races, both partisan and non-partisan. There are two things you can do to help:

  • Increase the number of voter guides we are able to print by donating to the Voter Guide Fund.
  • Help with distribution by volunteering to do preparation work and/or dropping off Voter Guides at targeted locations.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted us in many ways, including hitting our ability to fundraise through events like our annual fundraising gala. As a result, we do not have the assurance of full funding for the Voter Guide this year. What we do have is hope, hope in YOU. Hope in YOUR belief that an informed electorate will make the right choices in November.

Help us inform voters so they can make the right choices for themselves, for you, and for Washtenaw County. Contribute today.

Ballots start going out beginning September 24 – and our goal is to begin distributing the Voter Guides as early as possible. We’re aiming for the end of the month, printer schedules permitting. In 2018, some 200 volunteers got out 25,000 Guides in about a week. This year, funding permitting, we are going for 70,000 with an additional 48,000 mailed to all parts of the county.

We’ll provide an update on when the guides will arrive as we hear from the printer. Whether you want to drop off Voter Guides just in your community or traverse the entire county, we’ll need all the help we can get. This will be a contactless lit. drop.

Sign up to volunteer here or email us at, tell us what you’d like to do to help, and we will connect you with your Area Captain and send a specific sign-up form soon.
