On Thursday, August 13 at 12:00 PM ET, South Florida Hispanic leaders will participate in a Facebook Live roundtable to discuss how Donald Trump is more focused on dividing us and attacking our democracy than helping Florida Hispanics.

Donald Trump’s erratic, incompetent leadership has been in full force throughout his time in office and especially during this pandemic. His inability to lead during this moment of crisis has led him to strongman tactics, from attacking legitimate voting mechanisms to tear gassing peaceful protesters to claiming his “authority as the president is total.” Since the moment he became president, Trump has failed to stand up to dictators like Maduro or Putin, and has done the exact opposite – coddling, defending them and agreeing to meet with them.

WHAT: Roundtable with South Florida Hispanic leaders to highlight how Donald Trump is acting like a caudillo in midst of a pandemic.

WHO

  • State Senator José Javier Rodríguez, SD- 37
  • Jose Juan-Carlos “J.C.” Planas, former State Representative, election lawyer
  • Leopoldo Martinez Nucete, Venezuelan American, DNC Member and Latino Victory board member
  • Ricky Junquera, Candidate for HD-118
  • Prof. Eduardo Gamarra, Florida International University

WHEN: Thursday, August 13, 12:00 PM EDT

WHERE: To view the roundtable, please tune into the Florida Democratic Party’s Spanish-language Facebook page, Vamos Demócratas.

Florida Democrats believe in effective and efficient government that prioritizes quality education, affordable health care, and an economy in which anyone who works hard can succeed.

Most importantly, we believe that we are stronger together. We believe the fundamental American promise — that you can go as far as your own hard work will take you — should shine brightest in Florida.

That is why we champion the middle class and cherish the principle that all Floridians should have the opportunity to work hard and succeed. That is why we will never stop fighting for better public schools, because education is the surest path to a better life for millions.

From standing for affordable health care and better schools to fighting for civil rights and access to the ballot box, Florida Democrats are leading every day to move our state forward.
