ICYMI: Nicole Galloway’s Race is Upgraded Again!
We’ve gone from Solid R → Likely R → Lean R → and now, we’re on our way to Toss-Up status! According to the latest rankings by U.S. News & World Report, Missouri is one of three competitive gubernatorial races this cycle and the only one where Democrats’ chances of winning were upgraded again.
This is no longer Trump Country. Every move we make is part of a bigger strategy to reach every possible voter out there. And we’re hiring dozens of organizers and recruiting hundreds of volunteers to do just that.
Help us hire organizers and expand this operation by chipping in $10 bucks!
Save the Date!
The 2020 Annual Truman Dinner is going all-virtual this year! Please mark your calendars to join us on Saturday, Sept. 12th for a voter outreach activity, an intimate VIP Q&A, and for the main program featuring a slate of statewide candidates and a special keynote speaker. This event is a long-time Democratic tradition that we look forward to every year – don’t miss out!
Let’s Shake Up Congress and send Vicky Hartzler into Retirement!
Lindsey Simmons is a dynamic, rural candidate challenging Vicky Hartzler to be the 4th district’s next Congresswoman. In light of findings that Rep. Hartzler has taken a whopping $500,000 in public relief funds for her own personal businesses, it’s critical that we send her into retirement and elect a leader like Lindsey who’s committed to actual transparency and accountability.
Calling All Notaries!
We’re organizing notary publics all around the state who want to volunteer their services in a coordinated effort to notarize every absentee ballot that requires it as we head into the August and November elections. Are you a notary and want to join our ranks? Please email your contact info to volunteers@showmechange.org.
#MaskUpMO
Several cities and counties have put mandatory mask orders in effect as our state is now breaking records for new coronavirus cases each day, along with many other states and metropolitan areas. Please wear a mask whenever you are out in public and whenever social distancing isn’t possible. Protect yourself, your neighbors, and workers on the front lines. Check out www.maskupmo.com for more info.
MDP’s Candidates’ Corner Webinar Series
Rural Director Tara Logan will be joined by State Rep. Ian Mackey and Fmr. State Rep. Stacey Newman for a Running for Office Q&A next Wednesday, July 15th at 7PM. Candidates’ Corner is open to Democratic candidates and their staff. If you would like to join us, please email: TLogan@missouridems.org.
Vote “Yes on 2” Today!
Absentee voting for this election is already open and you can ensure the Missouri GOP will lose their fourth ballot initiative in a row! Request your absentee ballot and then text three of your friends to do the same. Requests are due back to your Local Election Authority by 5PM on 7/22. We have no time to spare, get yours in now!
Give the Gift of Voter Registration!
There are about 154,000 identified likely Democrats in every part of this state – rural, suburban, and urban potential voters that YOU can ask to step up and join the fight. $2 is all it costs to send a tracked, postage-paid, pre-filled registration form to one of these potential voters and get one new person added to the rolls. Make a huge impact in the next 100 or so days – give to send new voters to the polls in November!

Black Lives Matter Organizing Resources
It’s been just over a month since Minneapolis police officers killed George Floyd, and the outrage over his death and those of countless other Black Americans who have been unjustly killed has understandably not wavered. In order to make sweeping, lasting changes to our structures, the work to undo systemic racism must be a life-long commitment. We’ve compiled a list of resources to continue working toward racial justice. The items on this list are not the end of our to-do list, but they’re a good starting point. Please take a look and share with others.
Submit an Event!
Are you a Democratic club, county committee, or allied group that’s hosting an event? Let us know so we can publicize it on our website. A sense of community is even more important these days as we’re staying home and not gathering together in person. Submit your event here!
