It’s the Coronavirus, Stupid

1 min read

According to the Washington Post, Donald Trump is obsessed with the stock market and unemployment numbers and thinks that they are wrecking his chances for re-election. He’s not wrong – but ignoring the advice of Dr. Fauci (“the virus decides when we open the country back up”) can make the misery worse.

In the meantime: Trump continues to dismantle any oversight by dismissing Inspector Generals (including the one who was to administer the recent COVID-19 aid package), he is quietly removing environmental restrictions on oil and gas, the Republicans are appointing more bad judges, and the conservative majority on the Supreme Court enabled the state of Wisconsin to use the pandemic to further destroy the state’s voters’ rights.
MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills discuss all of this and more from lockdown in this week’s political podcast from the progressive point of view. A part of the #DemCast family of podcasts.
