COVID-19: An Open Call to All MO Elected Officials

2 mins read

The COVID-19 crisis is affecting lives across the nation and certainly here in Missouri. Governor Mike Parson has hosted multiple press conferences to let the public know what steps he is taking to protect our 6 million residents. Like elected officials in other states, he has spoken extensively about the importance of personal responsibility when it comes to winning the war against this killer disease.

But what about our other elected officials? What are they doing on behalf of Missouri residents?

With nearly all official business shut down elected officials are likely quarantining at home, just like their constituents. That means they have plenty of time on their hands to read their local newspapers and listen to local radio stations. They also have more available time to receive phone calls and emails from those who sent them to Jefferson City.

What steps are our lawmakers taking to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of residents in their home districts?

OneMissouri is issuing an open call to the Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, Treasurer, Auditor, 31 Senators, 162 Representatives, and all other elected officials. Tell us specifically:

  • What are you doing for your constituents during this challenging time in our state’s history?
  • What do you need from your constituents right now?
  • Is there anything else you want those in your home district to know?

Please send your responses to us at our Contact Us link. OneMissouri will publish and update responses as we receive them through May 15, the last scheduled day of the 2020 legislative session.

Governor Parson has said many times, “We’re all in this together.”

We know Missouri’s elected officials want the very best for all who live here. This will be a great way for everyone to get the message out.
