Republicans in the House of Representatives are threatening to shut down the government unless they get a voter suppression bill attached to must-pass legislation.
The so-called “Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act” is a grandstanding bill to require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections.
It’s already illegal for noncitizens to vote in federal elections. The SAVE Act is designed to force burdensome ID requirements on vulnerable communities, like voters with disabilities and low-income families.

Two years ago, the Republican-controlled PA General Assembly was working to amend the state constitution to declare that there was NO right to an abortion.
A Democratic governor would be totally unable to veto it.
But then we organized, fundraised, and crushed Republican dreams.
We flipped the PA House of Representatives, winning a ONE-SEAT majority and keeping the Keystone State a safe haven for reproductive rights as neighboring states cracked down.
Now, Republicans are spending millions to take back the PA House of Representatives and try to BAN ABORTION again.
If we get Democrats out to vote, we can crush Republican dreams again.
