Reminder: Two political pros this week at Blue Thursday
With just five months to go before the last election in (a) US history or (b) Donald Trump’s career, we’ll get the lay of the land from two leading Democratic strategists, Don Rose and Pete Giangreco. Don, “a legend in Chicago politics” (Sun-Times), goes all the way back to the Democratic convention of 1968 and up through Harold Washington to the present day; he was at the very first meeting of Blue Beginning at the Hideout back in 2017. Pete, a veteran consultant who advised Barack Obama, among many others, is one of the the “top influencers” in Illinois (Ballotpedia); he wowed our crowd the last time he joined us in November 2023. It’s sure to be a smart, informative, and dare we say entertaining evening. No sharks allowed!
You know the deal with Blue Thursday: it’s the monthly political happy hour where we mix with pundits, pols, and fellow progressives. The official part runs from 6 to 7, but the cognoscenti arrive early and stay late to mix and gossip with like-minded souls. Free and open to all, but please RSVP here.
