We need to fill you in on everything that happened, so let’s jump right in.
Senate Sweethearts
It’s February and love is in the air! In honor of Valentine’s Day, we thought we would give a personalized Valentine to each of the GOP Senate candidates.
First up, Millionaire Bernie Moreno! Moreno received an interesting endorsement from the infamous Ted Cruz this week. Gross.
Moreno has been under fire for failing to pay his employees overtime, and he has wasted no time doubling and tripling down on his excuses. However, all of Bernie’s excuses are false.
Millionaire Moreno has made it clear time and time again that he doesn’t believe the rules apply to him and he will continue to look out for himself, not Ohioans.
Next up, Frank LaRose! Most recently, Frank has failed to explain the highly unusual six figure loan he made to his campaign, despite saying months before that he couldn’t bankroll his campaign like his opponents.
Ohioans have seen far too much of Frank LaRose’s scandals the past few years and we’re tired of it!
And none for G̶r̶e̶t̶c̶h̶e̶n̶ ̶W̶e̶i̶n̶e̶r̶s̶ Matt Dolan!
Sorry, Matt! Mommy and Daddy’s $2 million contribution to the PAC supporting your campaign is enough of a valentine for you this year.

HB 6
If you’re anything like me, you’ve spent the last four years talking to anyone who will listen about the $60 million bribery scandal that plagued Ohio and involved every statewide Republican office holder.
And even if you’re not like me, you may have noticed that your electricity bill has gone up in recent months. Coincidence? I think not.
The GOP is sticking us with more than just an expensive electric bill. This week, Attorney General Dave Yost announced indictments in the HB6 scandal, including former Public Utilities Commission Chairman and First Energy Executives.
We have waited years for state officials to hold anyone accountable in the largest public corruption scandal in state history. But don’t let Dave Yost fool you. He wants to act tough now, but he and his fellow statewide Republicans with higher political ambitions have deep ties to this bribery scheme.
Ohioans are still waiting on answers from Dave Yost, Jon Husted and many other Ohio Republicans on their involvement in this historic scandal.
You might remember when Matt Borges was sentenced to five years in federal prison for his role in the scandal. Borges was the former Ohio Republican Party chair and Advisor to Yost’s 2018 Attorney General campaign. It’s all connected!
Corrupt Republicans like Dave Yost, Jon Husted and Frank LaRose run our state. Help us push back against them.
McConnell’s Money
It’s a new year and Mitch McConnell has decided to stick his nose into our state yet again. His super PAC announced an $83 million ad buy in Ohio last week. The largest single-state reservation made by McConnell’s super PACs ever.
The $31 million that McConnell’s super PAC pumped into Ohio in the homestretch of the 2022 election pales in comparison to the recent pledge. This is a clear signal that Sherrod’s race is the top target for national Republicans and that they are worried about their chances of winning.
As they should be! Just as he has before, Sherrod will win this year because his message and record fighting for workers, standing up to special interests, and protecting the Dignity of Work makes him uniquely qualified to win in Ohio and represent Ohio families in the Senate.
Donate to our Senator, Sherrod Brown and help us show McConnell that his money has no place in Ohio.

Until Next Time
2023 was a monumental and hopeful chapter of Ohio’s story that deserves much celebration. But it’s time to turn our focus to 2024. Redistricting and wage are on the line. Control of the U.S. Senate and U.S. House will undoubtedly run through Ohio in 2024. Ohio will also be the only state in the nation with an opportunity to gain control of the state Supreme Court. With two statewide wins under our belt, Ohio Dems are ready to win – again. Consider chipping in to help us win in 2024 and beyond!
