Reminder: Emma Tai tonight, live at the Hideout
She’s arguably the most effective organizer in Chicago, and she’ll be our special guest at Blue Thursday tonight. She led United Working Families when they powered the election of Brandon Johnson and Delia Ramirez, among others. Now she’s leading the charge for Mayor Johnson’s Bring Chicago Home initiative, a proposal to fight homelessness with a “mansion tax” on the city’s most fortunate.
Blue Thursday, we hope you know, is a monthly political happy hour in which we mingle, imbibe, gossip, and hear the latest from pols, press, and pundits. It happens at the Hideout, the city’s most excellent saloon. Bar opens at 5:30, program starts at 6. It’s free and open to all, but please RSVP here. And bring several friends!
If you can’t be there in person, catch the livestream at facebook.com/IndivisibleChi or find the podcast at on.soundcloud.com/NukJf.
