After we passed Issue 1 and protected reproductive rights in our state constitution, our not-so-lovely GOP Senator immediately refused to accept the election results and announced that he will not stop trying to strip away access to abortion at the federal level.
We are well aware that Vance is not alone in this mission.
Republican senators around the country are going to fight back with everything they’ve got. Since the GOP couldn’t pass their draconian ban in Ohio, they’re going to attempt to get it done in Washington.
After many, many, months of advocating for Issue 1, we have finally protected reproductive rights for all Ohioans. If you find yourself asking “where do we go from here?” Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. There are some pretty big battles ahead for Ohio, and we’ll be here to keep you updated about each and every one.
In order to keep this momentum from our Issue 1 win going, we have to take back the House and hold on to our Senate majority next year. Anti-choice extremists are running for Congress and if they take control in Washington and successfully ban abortion, who says they’ll stop there?
Meanwhile, our Democratic Senate has been instrumental in advancing policies that benefit Ohioans and all Americans. From expanding access to affordable healthcare, fighting for economic justice, addressing climate change, and improving our nation’s infrastructure, we’ve made significant progress over the last few years.
But Ohio Republicans will destroy all the progress we’ve made.
