We need to fill you in on everything that happened this week, so let’s jump right in.
The Big Scoop
Y’all, I’m cutting right to the chase this week. Flip-flopping Frank LaRose said the quiet part OUT LOUD when he admitted, after months of denial, that Issue 1 is “100%” due to efforts to legalize abortion.
Yes, Issue 1, the GOP power grab that would make it harder for citizens to amend the constitution.
This is AFTER LaRose insisted that isn’t the case just a few months ago. Okay, Flipper!
If there’s one thing that’s for sure, it’s that Republicans want to take away Ohioans’ constitutional rights. The good news is that Ohio Democrats and our partners across the state are organizing to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Whipped Warnings
The first step is to check your voter registration status and make note of these important dates below:
Ohio Democrats are full steam ahead in our Get Out The Vote efforts for the August Special Election. To date, we’ve knocked 4,600 doors and have made 2,600 calls to Ohioans all over the state!
Want to join in on the fun? There are 3 ways to volunteer directly with the Ohio Democrats:
1. Become a canvassing volunteer lead! If you are willing to consistently knock doors two shifts a week and train volunteers to knock doors that attend your shifts, go ahead and sign up for a Volunteer Leadership Training! You only need to attend one training to get started.
2. Can’t commit to hosting two canvassing shifts per week but still want to knock doors? Sign up on the canvassing interest form! A volunteer leader from your area will reach out shortly to get you plugged into their canvassing efforts.
3. Unable to canvas and would rather call voters to get out the word about the August special election? Sign up for one of our phonebanks! After attending a training you will be ready to make calls at any time that fits your schedule.
We stand strongly with our partners in the fight to protect citizen-led ballot initiatives and protect Ohioans’ right to have a say in their own government. But we can’t do this without YOU. Please join us in the fight for our rights. Talk to your families, your friends, and neighbors about the August 8th election, and encourage them to vote NO on Issue 1.

In the midst of fighting to protect reproductive and other constitutional rights, Ohio Democrats are looking forward to gathering on Saturday, July 15th for our 2nd annual Family Reunion. We hope you will consider joining us for an afternoon of togetherness and to rally folks up to go vote NO on August 8th.
