Join us Tonight May 23 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM for our community support meeting. We are privileged to have Dr. Valerie Milton of the Oakland County Youth Educational Services. Oakland County Youth Educational Services’ goal is to foster a commitment to young people that will prepare students to be successful and help them to become productive citizens of society. To accomplish this goal, young people must be in a caring, inclusive learning environment that promotes their best effort and reinforces personal respect. We look forward to Dr. Milton joining us as she not only discusses her journey through advocacy, but her vision for the youth of Oakland county in the state of Michigan.

OCDP Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee: April Meeting
Thursday, May 25th (6:30 pm – 8:00 pm)
The objective of the OCDP DEI committee is to build bridges of mutual respect and understanding among cultural groups in Oakland County and the surrounding areas.
The recent employee shooting in Louisville, KY was the 146th mass shooting of 2023.
• 4,686 deaths
• 65 children killed
• 383 teenagers killed
• 922 teenagers injured In addition, there have been 363 incidences of gun violence at Walmart since 2020.
Hence, the meeting will focus on gun violence and gun safety.
We will be welcoming special guests:
- Karen D. MCDonald, Prosecuting Attorney, Oakland County, MI
- Ann Anderson, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America

The dinner honors the legacy of the late U.S. Senator and lifelong Oakland County resident Phil Hart, who became known as the “Conscience of the Senate” during his 17 years in congress.
