Mapping JUDICIAL OVERREACH behind abortion pill ban

“One Texas Judge Is Not the Final Decision-Maker on Medication Abortion” – The Slate
“An amicus brief from FDA law scholars makes clear, Congress crafted procedures by statute for the FDA to use to withdraw approval of a drug. Judge Kacsmaryk cannot force the FDA to adopt another process to do the same—doing so would violate federal law.” – Slate
“I believe that The Biden Administration should ignore this ruling. The courts rely on the legitimacy of their rulings and what they are currently doing is engaging in an unprecedented erosion of their legitimacy.” – AOC
How does the Republican party with a minority of the popular vote get Roe v Wade overturned? Deny millions of women their freedom to choose when to have a family? Who is Judge Kacsmaryk? Which District Court is he in? How may district and appeal courts are there? What is forum shopping? How did the Republicans politicize the judiciary? How should judicial overreach be handled?

Medication abortion
Medication abortion typically occurs, in this country, with two different drugs—mifepristone followed by misoprostol. From the most recent data, abortion pills account for roughly 53 percent of abortions in this country, and given that this data is a few years old now, it’s probably much higher. Many people prefer medication abortion for a variety of reasons: It allows people to have an abortion in the privacy of their homes and it is available by telehealth, which is usually cheaper than an abortion at a brick-and-mortar clinic. – The Slate
Republican Post Fact world
Mortality rate: Mifepristone 0.65/100,000
Penicillin 2/100,000
Phosphodiesterase inhibitors 4/100,000

The safest drug has the most regulation. – Dr. Jennifer Gunter

Judge Kacsmaryk
Judge Kacsmaryk, who misstated that mifepristone was rushed to approval 23 years ago despite a 54 month process, is an anti-LGBTQ, Anti-abortion, anti-contraception activist who received 52 of 53 GOP votes for confirmation in 2019 (Susan Collins voted no). – Dr. Din
Kacsmaryk was deputy general counsel at First Liberty Institute, a group that litigates religious liberty cases, report Texas Lawyer, Courthouse News Service, the Washington Post and Bloomberg Law. He was confirmed on a 52-46 vote. – ABA Journal
The Washington Post points to controversial writings by Kacsmaryk. According to the Post, “he has described being transgender as a ‘mental disorder,’ called homosexuality ‘disordered’ and said that ‘sexual revolutionaries’ had made the unborn child and marriage secondary to ‘erotic desires of liberated adults.’ ” – ABA Journal
