Ken Bach – Pennsylvania – State House District 58

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.

I am a US Navy Veteran (1985-1989). I attended California University of PA. I have been happily married to Joni since1994, and I’m Dad to Hannah and Jarett. I served on the Yough School District school board for the last 14 years. I am the owner of a small business and I am an active community member.

Why are you running for office?

I see a major need to improve our state’s education system but I don’t see anyone willing to do what is necessary to fix it in our district.

What are the three biggest issues facing your community?

1) Educating our kids. 2) Drugs 3) Helping Seniors stay in their homes

How do you propose to solve those problems?

I would work to fairly fund education so all kids are educated to their fullest potential. I would propose changes to the tax code so that seniors aren’t forced out of their home due to high property taxes. We need to community programs so that people have a future and make better choices when it comes to drug use.

What is your stance on environmental and climate concerns that are facing your community?

We must work towards carbon free energy that is affordable.

What commonsense gun safety measures would have the most impact on your community?

I will push for universal background checks and to raise the age for assault weapons.

How would criminal justice reforms impact your community?

I would need to learn more on this issue.

How would you work to protect a woman’s reproductive health?

I will defend a women’s right to choose and I strongly believe the government shouldn’t be involved in a women’s medical decisions.

What measures would you advocate to ensure that your constituents have the right to vote?

Mail in voting is vital and I also believe that no voting in person line should be longer than a 15-minute wait.

Anything else?

I believe in ending school property taxes and funding schools fairly so all students, no matter their zip code receive the best education possible.
