Sunday June 26: We march with Pride
Come show your colors with Blue Beginning and Indivisible Chicago as we march in the Pride Parade Sunday, June 26. It will be Big Fun and we’d love to have you there with us. Family and friends too. RSVP here and we’ll send you the details on where and when we’ll assemble that morning.
Our primary objectives
The Illinois primary is little more than a week away—Tuesday, June 28. It’s a chance to send two excellent progressive women to congress, Delia Ramirez and Kina Collins. In a low-turnout primary like this one is bound to be, a few votes can make all the difference. We can win if we make the calls and knock the doors. See our complete list of phone banking and canvassing events and sign up for a few shifts now. No time to lose!
Register new voters to win Wisconsin
Our friends at Rust Belt Rising are repeating the enormously successful voter registration drive they conducted in 2020. How successful was it? It yielded more than 26,000 likely Democratic votes in Wisconsin. As you may recall, President Biden won the state by about 20,000. This program works! And you can do it from home on your own time.
Here’s how it goes: Voters who are not registered at their current address are mailed partially completed registration forms and stamped envelopes to send them in. Your job is to follow up by phone and, if necessary, help them complete and return the forms. The conversations are easy and productive, and the results speak for themselves. Sign up here to learn how it’s done.
Our friends Bob Best and Linda Tate, who play a big role in this program, have another effective registration effort that’s quite popular with Indivisible Chicagoans: they register new voters at Milwaukee-area DMV offices. Shifts are 2-3 hours and available most days.
“We are currently registering about 500 voters per month,” Bob and Linda report. “Most of our volunteers have told us that this is the most effective political work they have ever done, and that they finish each registration session feeling exhilarated.” Get in on this action! Learn more here.
