Casualties mount in the Republican WAR ON WOMEN
Elections have consequences. You get politicians who deny women healthcare and drive families into bankruptcy.

Republican wage WAR ON WOMEN
“A thirteen year old girl becomes pregnant shortly after a date at Six Flags in Dallas. Her family decides getting an abortion as the best option in order to better her future. This required scheduling an appointment with a doctor who could prescribe her one pill to block progesterone and stop the growth of the fetus.
Senate Bill 8 or the Texas Heartbeat Act makes it illegal for women to obtain an abortion past the sixth week of gestation, or even before the sixth week, should electrical activity in fetal cells be detected by ultrasound. No exceptions are made for pregnancies that result from rape or incest, or for those of very young teenagers. To beat the six-week cutoff they called local clinics to schedule an appointment with a doctor…” – The New Yorker

Forcible Rape
“House Republicans H.R. 3 was an assault on women’s health care. It proposed to redefine rape as “forcible rape.” That provision was withdrawn amid public outcry, but the bill would still effectively eliminate private health insurance coverage for abortion. H.R. 358 would give hospitals a loophole to not refer women for abortion, even if their lives are in danger.” – TruthOut
Treating miscarriages as murder
“Georgia state Rep. Bobbie Franklin (R) introduced a bill that would investigate unsupervised miscarriages as potential murders, Robin Marty reports. H.B.1: When a spontaneous fetal death required to be reported by this Code section occurs without medical attendance at or immediately after the delivery or when inquiry is required by Article 2 of Chapter 16 of Title 45, the ‘Georgia Death Investigation Act,’ the proper investigating official shall investigate the cause of fetal death and shall prepare and file the report within 30 days.” – TruthOut
Republican hypocrisy
“An anti-Republican sign was removed from a woman’s yard in Hamilton, Texas. The poster was painted by Marion Stanford, and it featured an elephant with its trunk lifting up a girl’s skirt. “Help” is coming out of the female figure’s mouth, and “Your vote matters” is written in bold letters next to the drawing.” – Washington Post.
“I thought the sign represented what is going on now, and we can’t just stand quiet. I wanted to tell people we could stop it with voting.”Texas agriculture commissioner Sid Miller shared a photo of Stanford’s lawn on Facebook complaining about the sign which had his opponent’s sign in the background. “Police told me to remove the sign or they would take it and would arrest me,” Stanford said. “So I let them take the sign.”
Legal experts said that if police took the sign, the city may have violated Stanford’s constitutional right to free speech. After reviewing the photo of the sign, Southern Methodist University law professor and First Amendment expert Dale Carpenter said it is fully protected under the First Amendment. “There is no basis I can see for removing the sign,” he said. “It’s not obscene, and no court would find it to be. You can say it’s offensive or distasteful, but that’s protected under the Constitution.”- Dallas News.
Republicans endorse Roy Moore despite accusations of sexual assaults of minors
“Trump strongly endorsed Roy S. Moore, the Republican nominee for Senate prompting the Republican National Committee to restore its support for a candidate accused of sexual misconduct against teenage girls. The party’s reversal hours later came a day after Senator Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader, had stepped back from his earlier criticism of Mr. Moore, saying Alabama voters should “make the call” on whether to send Mr. Moore to the Senate.” – NY Times
