Spring into action: Our campaign kickoff is next Monday, April 18
The weather is warming, flowers are blooming, passions are stirring . . . and Republicans are plotting to rig the future for decades to come. Time to get busy!
History tells us that midterm elections don’t go well for the party that holds the White House. But we need to make new history in 2022. It’s not just another midterm.
What’s the issue that moves you most: Climate? Immigration? Inequality? Women’s health? They’re all on the ballot this year. If we don’t protect and expand our thin Democratic majority in congress, Republicans will turn back the clock on all these and more.
So next Monday, April 18, we’re kicking off Indivisible Chicago’s Election 2022 campaign with an online rally and strategy session. We’ll talk about the fights we face and how we intend to win them. Our special guests will be Ben Wikler, chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin; Paula Martinos-Mantay, cofounder of Statewide Indivisible Michigan (SWIM); and the two congressional candidates we’ve endorsed in Illinois, Delia Ramirez and Kina Collins.
These are difficult days. We are heartsick about what’s happening in Ukraine. Discouraged by the endless string of mass shootings here at home. Disgusted by the spate of anti-women legislation advancing in the states. Fearful of another wave of Covid 19. And scared out of our minds about the prospect of 2024. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned over the past few months, it’s that things change fast. Opportunities arise. The future is up for grabs. The best way to seize it is to keep our heads down and continue working hard for the values we believe in.
We can win in 2022. Join us on April 18 and we’ll tell you how.
