We’re gearing up for 2022
It’s been a cold, hard winter, in more ways than one. But spring is coming! And with it will come numerous opportunities to blunt the efforts of those who want to steal our democracy. Even as you read this we’re scheming with our colleagues at Indivisible Chicago to find the actions, campaigns, and causes that will help us win the fights of 2022.
Now’s the time to make sure you’re in the loop: If you haven’t done so already, sign up with Indivisible Chicago to receive Daily Actions and important emails. Keep an eye on our Blue Beginning and Indivisible Chicago Facebook pages to see notices posted by our members and allies. And watch this space: we’ll be back soon with news of a 2022 campaign kickoff you’ll want to be part of.
Meanwhile, there’s plenty to do right now
- The Democratic Party of Wisconsin has a lineup of distributed volunteering events designed specifically for out-of-state volunteers.
- Our friends at Indivisible Illinois are hosting Saturday afternoon phone banks with WisDems.
- And our own Indivisible Chicago/Common Cause phone banks are still going strong, focusing now on state-level campaigns where a few volunteers can make a big difference. Tuesday, for example, we’re calling into Florida to push back against hideous anti-voter legislation. On Wednesday we’re slated to call Texas, recruiting poll monitors to protect voters’ rights in upcoming elections. The targets change quickly and often, according to Common Cause’s broad network of state affiliates, but on any Tuesday or Wednesday you can expect a worthy mission and the characteristic Indivisible Chicago volunteer experience: expert training, individual attention, and a diverse, friendly group of phone bankers who will welcome you in and share their knowhow. If you’re new to phone banking, this is a great way to warm up for the important campaigns to come. Join us and see.
