THE RETURN OF CHARLESTON COUNTY DEMOCRATIC WOMEN
As discussed at our monthly meeting in January, Charleston County Democratic Women (CCDW) is returning to holding meetings starting this month. CCDW is an organization for Democratic women and men. The annual membership is $20.
The organization’s mission is to educate and inform members on issues of importance to women and to support and raise money for Democratic candidates. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, February 15th, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Bowens Island Restaurant. However, future meetings will be on the first Thursday of each month and will feature guest speakers and information about how to “take action.”
Meeting announcements appear on the CCDW Facebook and via email.
READY TO RUN FOR OFFICE?
As you all know, we have elections in November at all levels of government, but are you aware that for all partisan offices, you must file between noon on March 15 and noon on March 30? Our communities need strong leaders who embody the values of the Democratic Party and are willing to fight for what is right. We recognize that it is a daunting prospect to put yourself forward for office, but we know that the Charleston Democratic community is filled with strong leaders who can create positive change in elected office. Furthermore, CCDP is filled with people eager to support these strong leaders’ runs!
If you are interested in making a difference in your community, please take time to consider running for office. The South Carolina Democratic Party has put out a form for individuals to express interest in running. Electoral success will require carefully laid out plans, which in turn require time. In addition to the SCDP information that you can access through the button below, here are more resources for women considering a run for office:
