The expanded Child Tax Credit from the Biden-Harris administration is helping thousands of parents and lifting children across Michigan out of poverty. For decades, almost every wealthy nation in the world has provided some form of child benefit for families, but in the U.S., that doesn’t exist. Right now, the expanded Child Tax Credit is set to expire December 31, but the current reconciliation bill draft has it set up as a permanent payment for qualifying parents across the country.
Alyssa Bradley, the Michigan Democratic Party’s new Rapid Response Director, is seeking community validators that are interested in participating in a virtual parent round table this Friday from 10:30am-11am. If you are or know someone who received a tax credit that wants to speak about how those paychecks have benefited them, let her know. She is seeking County Chairs, party staffers, or parents in the MI community. Email ABradley@
