Hello Friends,
Our lives have drastically changed over the past 17 months as COVID-19 invaded our space and disrupted our routines. While living through a pandemic, we’ve also had to deal with a governor in South Carolina who turned down money for federal programs that provided resources to jobless residents. We’ve had to fight for women’s rights, living wages and a plethora of other things. We’ve had representatives that didn’t represent us. Charleston County Democrats, with all that we’ve had to endure, we remained focused and kept fighting.
Now, we’re faced with redistricting and having to fight for fair and equitable lines. I need everyone of you who has a desire to receive adequate representation to attend the hearings and testify. It is tremendously crucial that your voice is heard so that there is recorded public comment about the need to get rid of partisan and racial gerrymandering.
Please attend the Senate redistricting hearing this Tuesday, August 10th, at 6:30 PM at Trident Technical College, College Center – Building 920 Salon F & G, 7000 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406.
