REMINDER: MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD ON REDISTRICTING

The South Carolina Senate Committee responsible for the redistricting process began their public hearings process, and we want to make sure that, as Democrats, we make our voices heard to push for fairly-drawn districts instead of Republican gerrymanders. Therefore, making your voice heard during this time is the best way to help South Carolina draw fair, equitable districts. Learn more about this process here: https://t.co/m0ONgYD3fX?amp=1

There are a number of ways to make your voice heard: You can email redistricting@scsenate.gov, call (803) 212-6634, or sign-up in person at your local hearing.

The Charleston hearing will take place next Tuesday, August 10th, at 6:30 PM at Trident Technical College, College Center – Building 920 Salon F & G, 7000 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406.

The redistricting committee has also set up social media accounts to communicate with the public: SC Senate Redistricting on Twitter and SC Senate Redistricting on Facebook.

We must ensure that we do everything possible to push for fair districts because, if we do not make our voices heard now, gerrymandering will mute our voices for the next decade.

Additionally, vaccinated individuals are invited to meet at the CCDP Office (1379 Ashley River Rd) at 5:30 PM to carpool with other vaccinated Democrats. Please sign up through the button below, so we know how many to expect.

Message from the Chair

“Do what is easy and your life will be hard. Do what is hard and your life will become easy.”
— Les BrownIt’s easy to just sit and do nothing about the issues that we’re experiencing in South Carolina. But we’re Democrats and we will do what is hard to make certain that we defend the welfare and interest of everyone in our state.

We need your time, treasure and talent. We need you donating and knocking on doors. With your help, we will turn this state blue. You can use the button below to donate and help support CCDP and elect Democrats!

Democratically yours,

Greg Perry
Chair of Charleston County Democratic Party

READY TO RUN FOR OFFICE?

If you are interested in making a difference in your community, please take time to consider running for office. The South Carolina Democratic Party has put out a form for individuals to express interest in running. You may think that it is too early to start thinking about this, but electoral success will require carefully laid out plans, which in turn require time.
