On the heels of President Joe Biden’s announcement of sanctions on Cuban officials to hold the regime accountable for human rights violations, the Democratic National Committee launched a digital ad campaign in Spanish and English highlighting President Biden’s continued commitment to the Cuban people and condemnation of communism as a failed system.
The ads are reaching Cuban American voters in Florida on Facebook, Instagram and more. They highlight “Biden’s commitment to the Cuban people and condemnation of communism as a failed system,” according to a news release.
The weeklong campaign, which began on Saturday both in English and Spanish, will cost “five figures” and reach nearly one million Floridians in the Tampa Bay, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach County regions, according to a Democratic National Committee spokesperson.
“The DNC is committed to using our resources to speak directly to the Cuban community in South Florida to make sure they know that President Biden and Democrats have their back,” said DNC Chair Jaime Harrison in a statement.
