NORTH CHARLESTON CANVASS & JULY COUNTY MEETING

In this special *Monday* edition of the CCDP newsletter, we want to highlight two very exciting happenings this week that we want many of our amazing Charleston County Democrats to attend!

We will have our monthly meeting this Thursday (7/15) at 6:30 PM in the Council Chambers at North Charleston City Hall. The meeting will be in person, but we will again have a Zoom link for people who prefer to attend virtually. During this meeting, we will hear from former US Congressman Joe Cunningham, who served South Carolina Congressional District 1 during the 116th Congress and is now running for the Democratic nomination for Governor of South Carolina. We will also discuss what is going on in CCDP, including our canvassing efforts, which leads to our second very exciting event this week…

We will have our rescheduled canvassing event on  Saturday (7/17) at 10 AM. This will be our second canvass/voter registration event as part of our Vote Where You Live initiative. We are headed back to canvass two highly-Democratic, low-turn-out precincts in North Charleston! We will meet at 3725 Rivers Avenue at 10 AM on Saturday, receive brief instructions, and then form teams to canvass the neighborhoods. The goal is to talk to people about what issues are important to them, tell them about Democrats and the North Area Democrats club, and hopefully register people to vote! We encourage anyone who is willing and able to come out and volunteer on Saturday! You can sign up through the button below.

SCDP: READY TO RUN FOR OFFICE?

If you are interested in making a difference in your community, please take time to consider running for office. The South Carolina Democratic Party has put out a form for individuals to express interest in running. You may think that it is too early to start thinking about this, but electoral success will require carefully laid out plans, which in turn require time.
