Last Week In DemCast

Last week we had reasons to celebrate – President Biden’s first overseas trip was a success and Juneteenth became a federal holiday through a rare bipartisan effort. Sadly, we also join the Biden’s in mourning the loss of their beloved German Shepherd, Champ.

Hans Buhrer shared an open letter to his senator, Kyrsten Sinema and Laurie Woodward Garcia explained her belief that Florida doesn’t have a democracy problem. DemCast favorite Teri Kanefield showed us that Susan B. Anthony’s activism can be used as a guide to strengthening our democracy. Tony Scruggs gave his own unique viewpoint on the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, and we celebrated the new Juneteenth holiday by again sharing Melvin Myles‘ powerful words and video.

Here at DemCast USA we are working hard to bring you well-researched pieces and interesting viewpoints. We hope you will read and share these articles.

DemCast is an advocacy-based 501(c)4 nonprofit. We have made the decision to build a media site free of outside influence. There are no ads. We do not get paid for clicks, but are sustained solely on donations from grassroots supporters. Because our revenue isn’t click-driven, we don’t take in any direct revenue from the creative contributions of grassroots activists who post on the site. This sets us apart from other media sites. And we’re proud of that.
