Two major issues are on our minds, and our attention to them is critical for our chances of getting fair representation and any chance of a government that is responsive to the needs of ordinary people, and is willing to work on the many converging crises that face us today.
If we want to be able to confront ingrained racism, police violence and militarism, climate change, income inequality– and the rest– we need to put our energy into both redistricting, and voter rights. Time is short to organize in support of the national Voting Rights bills and against the Lansing Voter Suppression bills, and to provide the critically needed input that the Independent Redistricting Commission is calling for.
