Last Week in DemCast

Last week the American Rescue Act was passed and signed into law. President Biden also announced that by May 1 every American adult should be able to get one of the Covid-19 vaccines.

It’s nice to share some good news with you, but of course our country still isn’t perfect. Last week DemCast writers had plenty to say about our problems, from the need for the For The People Act to prevent red states from suppressing voters, to the dangers of minority rule,to a piece in Spanish about the cultural issues that may be keeping Spanish-speaking women from supporting the ERA.

We also are thrilled to be able to share a series of very interesting interviews from the Washington State Indivisible Podcast. This week they included a talk with Sen. Patty Murray, and a discussion of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s report on anti-government extremism.

Here’s a chance to catch up what you missed Last Week in DemCast:

We do not get paid for clicks, but are sustained solely on donations from grassroots supporters. Because our revenue isn’t click-driven, we don’t take in any direct revenue from the creative contributions of grassroots activists who post on the site. This sets us apart from other media sites. And we’re proud of that.
