What happened this week? House Democrats passed the For the People Act to ensure fairness in voting and the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act to prevent law enforcement officers from killing Black and Brown people. California created a new plan to distribute vaccines based on helping those residents who have been hit the hardest by COVID. The Senate passed the COVID relief bill, which will bring $1.9 trillion (about the size of the Republican tax cut) to the aid of Americans in need. So yeah, a good week on our part. Let’s keep the momentum going!
Of course, we still have a lot of issues to contend with, like rising antisemitism and political extremism, the use of incarceration as a money-making tool, confirming more of Pres. Biden’s nominees, and the unmasking of Texas. But considering March 4 came and went and, surprise! Trump was not coronated president, I think we’ve got this.
