Last Week in DemCast

Have you been waiting for a quiet week after the election to sit back and recuperate from the stress of the last four years? So have we at DemCast USA, but with the insurrection on Jan 6, the impeachment trial, the disaster in Texas and the CPAC stage in the form of a Nazi symbol, it never seemed like we’d get a break. Well, technology stepped in and made it impossible for us to publish for a few days. We are back now, and we look forward to sharing a wealth of articles with you in the coming weeks on topics such as racial justice and the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, history-making candidates in LA, ICE detention, immigration reform and the rise of antisemitism. Please stay tuned!

We did feature some important articles early in the week. Adam Cohen wrote on The Battle for the Soul of America and Teri Kanefield shared how Cynicism has infiltrated and damaged our politics. We’ve also shared two explainers by Democracy Labs, one on following the money in politics, and another showing how H.R. 1 fights voter suppression. We hope you take the time to read these informative pieces and share them widely.

DemCast is an advocacy-based 501(c)4 nonprofit. We have made the decision to build a media site free of outside influence. There are no ads. We do not get paid for clicks, but are sustained solely on donations from grassroots supporters. Because our revenue isn’t click-driven, we don’t take in any direct revenue from the creative contributions of grassroots activists who post on the site. This sets us apart from other media sites. And we’re proud of that.
