Meet Austin Chenge

Yesterday, Austin Chenge became the first announced Republican candidate against Governor Whitmer. And you won’t believe the lunacy and extremism he put forward on his first day.

In his announcement, Chenge called Governor Whiter a “dictator,” tried to excuse the January 6th insurrection by citing the rioters’ “passion,” and even pledged executive action to perpetuate Donald Trump’s myths about voting machines. He even went on to say that he’d cancel Black History Month — calling it illegal.

Unfortunately, I think this is the kind of extremism we can expect from much of the eventual field of GOP candidates for Governor.

Oakland County is going to be key to pushing back on these extremist candidates and re-electing Governor Whitmer. Which is why I’m asking you to help out today. Will you split a donation with the OCDP and Governor Whitmer’s campaign today?

Split a contribution between the Oakland County Democratic Party and Governor Whitmer’s re-election campaign. Your support will go directly toward helping us combat extremists like Austin Chenge and the rest of the GOP field of candidates for Governor.

Thanks,

Jody LaMacchia
Chair, OCDP
