WHY WE ARE THANKFUL
With Thanksgiving tomorrow, we want to express how grateful we are at this time of year. We are thankful for our new President-elect and Vice President-elect, who will help our country return to normalcy. We are also thankful for our new sheriff, our members of the county council, the State House, the State Senate, and all of our elected Democrats. We have so many great elected leaders in our communities who are making sure our interests are represented.
Furthermore, we are immensely grateful for our thousands of amazing volunteers. Without our volunteers, none of our efforts would be successful nor would our representatives have the support of such a vibrant Democratic community. We are thankful for our new office and our monthly donors who allow us to keep the doors open and the lights on. This office has created so many opportunities so far, even in the time of COVID, and will continue to do so going forward.
Even when times are difficult, with divisive rhetoric and a continued pandemic, we are thankful that we, the Charleston County Democrats, have one another in this beautiful community. Thank you for all you do!

HOW TO HELP IN GEORGIA
Flipping the Georgia Senate seats are absolutely CRUCIAL to getting any of president-elect Joe Biden’s agenda done when he’s in office. Without control of the senate, Mitch McConnell will still be the madman at the wheel and will pull every dirty trick he can to roadblock, obstruct, and derail everything that we worked so hard for. CCDP IS COLLECTING DONATIONS!
With the conclusion of this election cycle, we’re focusing our efforts on supporting the community. In addition to the Blessing Box we have at the office, this season we are collecting donations for a number of other organizations and initiatives around Charleston County!
CCDP has already gathered food donations for a 60-person Thanksgiving meal at the Eastside Community Development Corporation.
East Cooper Democrats have coordinated with Uplift Charleston’s Blanket Drive and are collecting warm items for cold weather at the Law Offices of a Richard Hricik (941 Houston Northcutt Blvd) until November 30th.
At the office, we have tree donation collections taking place right now! CCDP is proud to be a collection site for Toys for Tots through December 11th. We’re collecting new, unwrapped toys for children up to age 12. We’re also serving as a Project Stay Warm CHS collection until December 6th. We’re collecting winter gloves, sweater hoodies, and plush blankets for elderly seniors. Finally, we are collecting menstrual products for the Homeless Period Project which will go to local shelters and schools
