It’s Tuesday and Texans are once again down to one-ballot-drop-box-per-county and the Supreme Court just wrote a “get-out-of-justice” excuse slip to halt the Census early. Plenty enough reminders of what’s at stake here if we let up on our work to remove this administration from office.
Meanwhile, back at the voter guide, we’ve added in the voice of the LA and Long Beach chapters of Black Lives Matters and an interesting coalition called BlueGreen Alliance, made up of both organized labors and environmental organizations. We’ve updated an action on the CA GOP’s flouting of our election laws with their fake ballot boxes. A.G. Becerra has given them until Thursday to remove them, something they could accomplish in an hour if someone’s behind was going to jail. Also, it appears that our taxpayer dollars will be affected, as election employees will have to contact every voter who used these boxes. We’ve suggested a basic script to send to our county’s district attorney and to Becerra. Feel free to express yourself on how justice should reach those who believe themselves above the law.https://indivisibleventura.org/2020/10/13/tues-10-13-reminder-the-ca-gop-is-not-above-the-law/
6:00 pm: Join the “Flip Ventura County Blue” phonebank for Christy Smith phonebank with Simi Valley Indivisible and Ventura County Democrats!
The phonebank will start with a Zoom training then phonebanking to unseat Trump Republican Congressman Mike Garcia!
If you can’t help a phone bank this evening, find another this week and help. Something is happening every single day. Reaching out to others and asking them to vote, with phone/textbanking, is the most powerful action you can take and for the first time, voter contact DOESN’T involve walking around in high heat, climbing stairs, and hoping that the dog is barking at you because it’s friendly. https://indivisibleventura.org/what-can-i-do-now/
Head up. We are one day closer to an infinitely better future. All it needs is for us to put in the work.
