Smoke from the fires in the West has reached Europe. Another large hurricane has flooded towns in the Gulf. Health officials warn that a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic will be upon us soon, and at least one model predicts a “very deadly December.” The economy continues to sputter. And the November 3 election could either be a new beginning for our democracy… or mark its end. And even if our side wins, it may be difficult to wrench the current president out of the White House.
