Hi everyone!

It’s Wednesday, and a nation is reeling after that horrifying “Presidential Debate.” We have a great video by Jaquita Wilson to break down the points they scored against each other along with some much-needed perspective.
Watch it here in our post:

Dump Chad: Please keep calling your senators on the possible confirmation of acting DHS secretary and low-key monster, Chad Wolf. Even better, if you are a Californian, go through your digital contact list and ask all the Red-staters on it to call theirs. McConnell will only bring him to the floor if no GOP senators are put at risk by it.

Try something new: Start screwing up your courage to try phonebanking and textbanking. We add more opportunities every day.

Forum: Tonight at 6:00-7:00, there is a forum for education candidates for the Santa Paula Unified School Board candidates for Trustees Areas 2,4, and 5. At 7:00, they move on to the Ventura County Community College Board Candidates for Trustee Area 3. This is put on by the Santa Paula Chamber of Commerce, Santa Paula Latino Town Hall, and LULAC District 17

Forum: Also starting at 6:00 is a candidate forum for Moorpark candidates, hosted by the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce.

Today’s actions are actually 3 things to do after that abusive debate.

– One is to enjoy and share a great music video on voting by Ani DeFranco.

– Then, it’s obvious we need to help out the Commission on Presidential Debates. We love Trevor Noah’s suggestion of giving the moderators squirt guns, but there are assuredly other, better ideas out there.

– Lastly, we’ve posted some links to volunteer to be a voting rights/election protector. Trump seems to have deputized his White supremacist friends on national TV. We need to be sure they don’t interfere with people trying to vote.

Yesterday’s action: If you haven’t done it yet, please write to Judge Amy Coney Barrett, as she is the only person now who can stop this trainwreck, and get the Senate focused on what it should be doing, which is passing COVID relief legislation to help the public survive this pandemic. We included both a sample postcard and letter, because, as our mothers always told us, “It never hurts to ask.”We’ve also added some suggested questions to send on to your senators when they grill this woman.

Join our postcard campaign – Heading towards 20,000! We’ve finished 6000 Get-Out-The-Vote cards to Michigan, 4500 to Florida, and 5000 to Georgia. Now we’re helping the “Postcards to Swing States” get out 5000 cards more cards to Florida, Iowa and North Carolina. Wanna help? Email “I WANT POSTCARDS” to
