Voter Registration Has Plummeted in 2020

The report found that voter registration has declined by an average of 38 percent in 17 of the 21 states analyzed when compared with 2016 registration rates. This is especially alarming in the time of COVID and in an election with fears of rampant voter suppression and restrictive mail-in ballot rules.

‘Naked’ ballot rules put thousands of Pennsylvania mail-in votes at risk, Philadelphia official warns

The Pennsylvania Supreme court ruled last Friday that election officials can reject so-called “naked” ballots that are received without the secrecy envelope. State election officials had previously provided guidance telling counties to count naked ballots. This means that more than 100,000 mail-in ballots are at risk.

Trump Expands Ban On Racial Sensitivity Training To Federal Contractors

In an attempt to rewrite the country’s history and bury the history of slavery with his “patriotic education” order, Trump signed an executive order that requires federal contracts to now include a provision that says contractors with the federal government will not have “workplace training that inculcates in its employees any form of race or sex stereotyping or any form of race or sex scapegoating” or face the cancellation of contracts.
