Trump is fresh off of his superspreader rally in Nevada and is now headed to California to spread both coronavirus and hate. No doubt he’d like to shift the focus from his taped confession that he downplayed the seriousness of the virus, a lie that has cost more than 190,000 lives in the US so far.
Now his political advisers have told him he has to at least pretend to empathize with wildfire victims. Our response? While Trump blusters about in Sacramento, we’re doing the most effective thing we can to get him out of office. We’re going to #DoTheWork in a special phonebanking event for Biden TODAY, Monday Sept. 14th at 4-6pm. First time and veteran phonebankers alike are welcome to join us to “SAC” Trump! We will have trainers on hand to guide you through the choices and the mechanics of calling voters to ensure a huge turnout in November. See you soon!
Scroll down for further details on the “SAC” Trump event, and for our action of the week- calling our Members of Congress to ask them to cosponsor the THRIVE act.
Would you like company making calls to representatives or doing the action of the week? Join our Virtual Action Coffee Zoom meeting Monday mornings at 10 am: https://zoom.us/j/721847201. We’ll talk through Indivisible Yolo’s action of the week, call or email our representatives, talk politics, and stay connected to each other and the work in this challenging time.
Now’s the time to get involved! We have phone banks, text banks, advocacy calls, postcard meetups and more, all online via Zoom. We’re doing more than ever – in spite of the pandemic – as we count down to the most critical election of our lives. Our events are on the Indivisible Yolo calendar here: https://indivisibleyolo.org/calendar/.
Take care, and take action!
-The Indivisible Yolo Team

Action: Special Event: Phonebank to “SAC” Trump!
WHAT: Phonebank to “Sac” Trump
WHEN: Monday, 9/14, 4-6 p.m.
WHO: You! We welcome newbies and veterans alike.
Did you hear? Trump is coming to Sacramento Monday at the behest of political advisers who told him he needs to at least pretend to empathize with wildfire victims.
Our response? While Trump blusters about, we do the most impactful thing we can. We double down and #DoTheWork. We are hosting a special edition phonebank for Biden this Monday (TODAY) from 4-6 p.m. We welcome first time phonebankers and veterans alike to help us “Sac” Trump! We will have trainers on hand to guide you through the choices and the mechanics of calling voters to ensure a huge turnout in November.
Action: Demand our Members of Congress Cosponsor the THRIVE resolution
- Sen. Feinstein: 415-393-0707 (SF) 202-224-3841 (D.C) (email)
- Sen. Harris: 916-448-2787 (Sacramento) 202-224-3553 (D.C.) (email)
- Rep. Garamendi (530) 753-5301 (Davis) (202)-225-1880 (D.C.) (email)
- If you’re in an area of Yolo county represented by Rep. Matsui, THANK her for being a cosponsor of the THRIVE resolution!
Sample Call Script for Sen. Harris and Feinstein and Rep. Garamendi:
Hi, my name is [YOUR NAME] and I am a constituent from [CITY/ZIP CODE]. I’m very concerned that Congress is failing to address the needs of the American people as we face multiple crises in the wake of COVID.
We need a COVID response that is centered around a just economic recovery that addresses racial injustice, mass unemployment, a global pandemic, and climate change.
Will [Senator Harris/Senator Feinstein/Representative Garamendi] support the THRIVE Resolution to ensure that any COVID recovery package addresses the multiple crises facing Americans? I will be closely watching for the Senator’s actions on this and following up.
The United States is facing multiple and overlapping crises – old and new – that keep many of us from achieving our fundamental human rights and needs.
The COVID-19 pandemic has killed over 190,000 people in the US and resulted in tens of millions of people out of work, rising economic inequality has made working families more vulnerable, and intensifying climate change has compounded the threats to our health, economy, and livelihoods.
With the climate crisis continuing to intensify, the economy entering a deep recession, and the need for racial justice and healing being felt as acutely as ever, the case for Green New Deal-style policymaking is stronger than ever before. In order to achieve this, we need to start laying the groundwork for a 2021 COVID recovery package that understands that the way out of this crisis is to restructure our society to truly value the dignity of all people. Tell our Senators and Representative to do everything in their power to support a just COVID recovery.
