Wildfire north of Sacramento is largest in California history — and it may not be done growing

Police in the U.S. killed 164 Black people in the first 8 months of 2020. These are their names

Using databases from Mapping Police Violence and The Washington Post, CBS News compiled a list of 164 Black men and women who were killed by police from January 1 to August 31, 2020 and is based on reported and verified cases, which does not necessarily account for all incidents in which a person was killed by police.

Wisconsin Supreme Court temporarily suspends mailing of absentee ballots

The order came from the conservative-backed majority on the state Supreme Court, coming a week before the state-imposed Sept. 17 deadline to send out requested absentee ballots to registered voters.

As students return, the deaths of at least six teachers from covid-19 renew pandemic fears

Nationally, at least five other teachers have died since early August while the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the school year for parents, teachers, and students.

Join Women for Biden every Sunday at 2 PM ET as we call voters in battleground states across the country. A short phone banking training will be provided at the start of every session.


Join the Muslim Women for Biden every Sunday for phone banking.
3pm EST/ 2pm CST/ 12pm PST

No experience required, training and script will be provided! The most effective way for us to reach voters right now is through phone calls, and we need you to help us get the word out to make sure we have our voices heard.
