News from the Coconino County Democratic Party
June 2, 2020
Record Number of Coconino County PCs!
Thanks to the enthusiasm for change and the hard work of Regional Captains and other recruiters, we will have 196 precinct committee persons for the 2-year term beginning October 1, 2020. In 2017, the county party began with 35 PCs, mostly from Flagstaff. Our recruiting and outreach efforts brought us to 135 for the term that began in October 2018 and now we’ve achieved a nearly 30% increase over 2018! This new group represents all parts of our diverse county.
We’re delighted to have new people on board who will be working with us, starting now, to turn Arizona even more blue in November!
County PCs and Volunteers Working Hard!
We can’t go door-to-door but we still can work to flip the Senate and the Arizona Legislature. Our PCs and Volunteers have jumped into phone banking for both the Mission for Arizona and our LD-6 campaigns. You can join by following the links on our website calendar.

Mission for Arizona (MFA) so far has focused on getting Democratic voters signed up to get their ballots by mail. Statewide 400,000 postcards were mailed at the beginning of May and then the phone chase began. The final numbers aren’t in yet but the success rate is unprecedented, especially in Northern Arizona.
Our LD-6 phone bankers are doing the important work of identifying likely voters for Felicia French for Senate and Coral Evans for House. They are checking on how people are doing in the pandemic and asking for the voters’ input on issues. We need a few more people to work on this task in order to meet our targets for Coconino County.
The staff of both campaigns have been great to work with so far. They have “met” our Regional Captains to talk about specific neighborhoods and have set up the calling lists so that our Coconino callers are speaking with people near where they live. This is very effective to recruit volunteers for calling and it also makes the calls more personal and productive.
Summer Plans

In addition to the work described in the last article, we’re planning a massive mailing campaign to reach voters while we cannot do tabling or canvassing. We’ve looked hard at our budget and our volunteer capacity. We’ve designed procedures to prepare the mailings while enforcing social distancing, and we’re confident we can pull off this effort. We’ll be sending letters, sample ballots, and postcards between now and the first of October.
Cheers for the U.S. Postal Service!
Outreach Continues

Dems Give
When the COVID-19 crisis began, we put together a list of local opportunities to give. If you can give, these organizations continue to serve those impacted by unemployment and disease and would be grateful for your help.

If we have no RSVPs, the event will not be held! Call (928) 214-0393 or write info@coconinodemocrats.org.

If you are struggling with the technology required to participate in the 2020 campaign, get in touch and we’ll help you learn what you need. info@coconinodemocrats.org.
Please Donate If You Can
Our ambitious mailing agenda discussed above will help us win in November, but it requires more than our County Party has ever spent before. In addition, we want to help our nominees with an aggressive social media campaign.
If you can, please increase your monthly donation or make a special one-time contribution now.
