Lisa Gibson is a very active member of Secure Elections Network. They will be hosting this webinar on state and local funding needs for the November elections given all that is going on right now with COVID-19.

Liz Howard of the Brennan Center will be reviewing her just released study of the projected  costs to states to run their elections this year.  Her focus is on five important states — Georgia, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, and the implications for other states are clear.  Joining Liz will be Tina Barton, a well respected City Clerk in Rochester Hills, Michigan who will discuss the implications of this study for those on the front lines of elections.  Congress must act to fund elections at this critical time.

Virtual visit with Senator Schatz’s office

When:  Tuesday, May 5, 12:00 pm HST

Join Zoom Meeting at:
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86819075983

We will meet with Chuck Freedman, who works in Senator Schatz’s Honolulu office and has been our primary focal point since way back in Jan 2017 when we started these meetings.

Additionally, Chuck recommended we listen to this podcast by Pod Save America, titled “The Trump Pod Challenge”. Per Chuck, it is very good in its entirety and the last 19 minutes includes Senator Schatz talking politically.

A political podcast for people who aren’t ready to give up or go insane.

Pod Save America is a no-BS conversation about politics hosted by former Obama aides Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer and Tommy Vietor. It cuts through the noise to break down the week’s news, and helps people figure out what matters and how they can help. They’re regularly joined by journalists, activists, politicians, entertainers, and world leaders. New episodes come out on Mondays and Thursdays. Text the hosts at (323) 405-9944
