Friends & Neighbors,
I hope this email finds you well in these uncertain times. The last few weeks have been as busy for me as I continue to serve our country on active duty orders. There have been plenty of long days, but I feel a sense of pride when it comes to working alongside the men and women of our military. Service has always been an important bedrock of my life and I am glad to play a small part in helping our nation push through this crisis.
When I was a boy and would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping’
Mister Rogers

Thus far, I have been operating missions in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. We just wrapped up a delivery with a cumulative weight of 90,000 pounds of supplies. Lots of heavy lifting. Just last week, as I was operating in Iraqi airspace, it hit me that this may be the first time in South Carolina history that a candidate served in a combat zone during their campaign. These are unprecedented times we are living in.

FUNDRASING UPDATE:
Our campaign continues to gain momentum and at the end of Q1, Sutton for SC is the top fundraiser in the race for SC House 114.
In fact, we out-raised the incumbent by nearly 4 to 1 in Q1.

In addition to the strong showing in our race, we are also the top fundraiser for ALL State House races in the Lowcountry. I am incredibly thankful for this support and view this strong showing as an endorsement of our message:Steady hands at the wheel and compassionate leadership in a time of crisis.
With that in mind, we still have 7 months to go and the mountain will only get steeper from here. Despite our early success, we will continue to press forward and make sure we win the race the old fashion way: HARD WORK.
As South Carolina navigates life in the post COVID-19 world, those steady hands will be needed in Columbia. I stand ready to provide leadership when it comes to rebuilding our public health sector, education system and economy. We have a lot of work that lays ahead. Uncertainty about the future is always worrisome but there is one thing we can be sure of: We will get through this together.
Thank you for believing in me and this campaign!
