Our General Meeting is TONIGHT, Monday, Feb. 24th from 7-8:30pm in the Raley’s Community Room, 367 W. Main St., Woodland. All new and returning members are welcome to attend. We’re already gearing up for November- come and see how you can get involved, and hear about our 2020 Volunteer Center opening in Davis!
Our Volunteer Center Grand Opening will officially be in the beginning of March, but we’ve had already great turnout for events. People ready to #DoTheWork came in for textbank training and phonebank host training. If you missed your chance last week, don’t worry- the TextTeam will host 2 more textbanking events for new and returning texters this week, on Thursday evening and on Saturday afternoon, and even more events throughout March.
If you aren’t able to make it out for the events, you can still sign up to flip the Senate with an Indivisible textbanking project. Scroll down to see how you can become involved!
Hope to see you at tonight’s meeting, (or at one of our many events)!
It’s 2020 and we are already in full swing gearing up for November. Come get plugged into our efforts and find out about our new volunteer center opening in Davis.
Actions this week:
1) If you haven’t already- sign up to Textbank to Flip the Senate with Indivisible’s “Payback Project”
The goal of the Indivisible “Payback Project” is to flip the Senate- textbankers will contact voters in key states to mobilize locally to flip their Senate seats. You can sign up here to join on to the Project: https://indivisible.org/payback-project-p2p
See this link for details about the effort: https://www.paybackproject.org/#home-plan
Indivisible Yolo and Sister District – CA-3 are hosting even more textbanking training and events. So if you haven’t textbanked before, or if you’re a returning texter see the next action!
2) Encore! Textbanking for New and Returning Texters
We are growing our TextTeam2020 and welcome returning texters and brand new texters to join us at the Election 2020 Volunteer Center to reach out to critical voters.
If you are new to texting, we have training and tons of support to get you up to speed. Training for new textbankers will begin each hour on the hour. To make sure we have enough trainers in place to support new texters, please RSVP for NEW Texter training by signing up for a training slot here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040948ABAF2DA3F85-beginner
Remember to bring a charged laptop or tablet AND your cell phone. Helpful hint: we’ve found texting is easiest on a laptop with a separate mouse. So bring that if you have it. Also important: Make sure you can access your email on one of the devices you bring.
Experienced texters are always encouraged to come to lend a hand to new texters or to just share the experiences you are having texting from home. We love our community of texters, we love texting together, and we always appreciate hearing about your favorite conversations with voters.
