Ballots Drop Soon – Vote on Day One

Ballots across California are scheduled mail October 7 and early voting begins via mail, drop boxes and early voting centers in some counties, including Yolo. Voting early helps Dems get more voters to the polls. Jess Craven lays out four key reasons in a recent Instagram post. Check it out and share it with your friends.

Working through the lengthy California ballot is made much easier, thanks to Blue Voter Guide: https://bluevoterguide.org. Use it to research all the endorsers and complete your ballot (and share it with friends and family). The CA Grassroots Alliance is hosting a Ballot Joy Zoom Party on October 9th at 7PM featuring grassroots leaders and the six CA Congressional candidates in the most competitive district. Join the fun then head to your closest drop box!

Phone Banks Continue Three Times a week!

Every Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday from 5-7 PM!

Every Tuesday until Election Day is Tuesdays for Arizona for us, calling voters in Arizona to support the Arizona for Abortion Access Act, the state constitutional amendment to protect the right to abortion in Arizona.

When we work the phones from California to help get out the vote, organizers and volunteers in Arizona are freed up to knock doors and talk to their neighbors. And when reproductive freedom is on the ballot, it helps drive our voter turnout, that’s a bonus when we help Arizonans secure the right to abortion in their state constitution. Turnout will be critical to winning Arizona’s Electoral College votes in this important swing state! Harris has closed the gap but will need every vote we can turn out.

All welcome. No experience needed.

On Wednesday, together with Sister District Yolo, join us for Wednesdays for the White House, calling voters for the Harris-Walz campaign. Our job: converting those positive vibes to volunteers and votes! This calling will be using the user-friendly Scale to Win autodialer that many of you have already been using this year. You only need your computer (or tablet), but the system works best if you also use your phone.

On Thursday, together with Indivisible Sacramento, we will continue Thursdays for California, calling voters in the six California congressional districts that represent the battleground for control of the House. This phone bank also uses the Scale to Win autodialer but it’s not programmed to skip answering machines. So phone bankers get a lot more connects — and we leave voice mails to introduce the candidates’ name to voters. You need only your computer (or tablet), but the system works best if you also use your cell phone.

If weekdays 5-7pm are not ideal for your schedule, come to a phone bank to get trained, and you’ll be able to call on your own when it’s convenient for you. If you can’t make it to one of these phone banks, but want to get trained to call on your own, send a note to indivisibleyolo@gmail.com. We’ll find a way to get you calling!

RSVP: Tuesdays for Arizona @ 5-7pm
RSVP: Wednesdays for the White House @ 5-7pm

Donate to Field Team 6

We are continuing to ask you to donate to Field Team 6, a key part of our progressive infrastructure whose mission is to register Democrats throughout the country. Field Team 6 is reaching out to millions of unregistered likely Democrats using email, text, postcards, phones and targeted ads. They supply us with content to help our voter reg teams on college campuses and are planning outreach via text to over 50,000 unregistered eligible voters in California’s key swing districts.

Tell our Members of Congress: Ceasefire now! Withhold arms to Israel

Indivisible has joined the global community in expressing our horror and grief at the loss of over 1,400 Israelis, Americans, and foreign citizens in Hamas’ horrific attacks on October 7, and echoed calls for all hostages to be released immediately.

Since then, the humanitarian situation in Gaza has deteriorated catastrophically with Israel’s ongoing bombardment and blockade of life-sustaining supplies like water, food, medicine, and power. The death toll continues to rise by the hour, including thousands of Palestinian children.

The bombing has to stop.

Earlier this year, President Biden announced a ceasefire framework that could bring a stop to the hostilities and return all hostages to their families. But time after time, Prime Minister Netanyahu has undermined efforts to finalize the ceasefire deal, including in his address before Congress. Meanwhile, the families of hostages are protesting him for refusing to prioritize bringing their loved ones home.

Enough is enough.

No more US weapons for Netanyahu’s war. The US must use every ounce of leverage, including withholding offensive military assistance, to finalize the ceasefire deal that’s on the table and stop the killing.

Example call/email script (your own words are best!)

I am a constituent and I am calling/writing today to ask you to call for the US to stop sending offensive weapons to the Israeli military, and to finalize President Biden’s ceasefire deal.

The death toll of this war is heartbreaking and hostages remain separated from their families. Any humanitarian solution to this crisis starts with stopping the bombs and the killing. You can’t allow American weapons and supplies to be used for more escalations.

I urge you to call for US offensive weapons to be withheld from the Israeli military, and to push for a desperately needed ceasefire.
