Tell Senators: Support Sanders’ Resolution
US complicity in this horrific war must end.
~Sen Bernie Sanders, Sept 18
On September 25, Senator Bernie Sanders introduced Joint Resolutions of Disapproval (JRD) seeking to block $20 billion in new arms sales to the Israeli government. The Senate will vote on these measures when it reconvenes in November.

Sep 18: Sanders discusses his plan to introduce the JRDCiting reasons that are “moral, legal, and strategic,” Sanders said on September 25, “Sending more weapons to Netanyahu’s extremist government is unacceptable. That is why many of our closest allies have already stopped offensive arms transfers. Congress must now act to uphold U.S. and international law and use our leverage to advance U.S. policy goals.”
Read the Sept. 25 press release; read Senator Sanders’ fact sheet.
ACT: Contact our senators and call on them to support Senator Sanders’ Joint Resolutions of Disapproval (JRD) to block the sale of offensive U.S. weaponry to Israel.

Oct 2: Panel on Originalism in Supreme Court
This Wednesday on your lunch hour, attend a free online panel discussion, The Fight Against Originalism Continues
From the Brennan Center for Justice: In its last term, the Supreme Court undermined the federal government’s power to solve problems and the people’s ability to hold their political leaders accountable. The Court was flooded with false historical arguments, and the justices relied on profoundly flawed ideas about the deep American past to help justify their radical overhaul of the law.

Where does the fight against originalism stand in 2024? And what might come next?Join us for a FREE live virtual event on Wednesday, October 2, at 12:00 noon CT (1:00 pm ET) as leading historians and Brennan Center experts delve into some of the Court’s most significant recent rulings, how they will shape upcoming legal debates, and how the Court’s disastrous originalist opinions are affecting hundreds of millions of lives.
