Fri, Oct 4th – 7pm: Chat & Chill Welcome Event at The Shack on 8th St at the Oceanfront
Welcome to CD2, Virginia’s most important swing district! Go CD2 will host appetizers at this casual outdoor venue across the street from the ocean. We have reserved seating and tables in the “Bus Stop” nook. Parking available at the 9th Street Garage.
Sat, Oct 5th – 9:30 am: Canvassing Kick Off Rally at VBEA 445 Kings Grant Rd
The Virginia Beach Education Association is hosting a day of action, joined by local co-sponsors. Starting at 9:30am with a DJ and rally speakers, Saturday’s canvassing will be in Virginia Beach, with Chesapeake packets available for Sunday.
Not a canvasser? Join us for postcarding, textbanking, or phonebanking at the VBEA offices. Refreshments will be provided before and after!
Sat, Oct 5, 6:00 pm: Post Canvassing Meetup at Chix at the Beach 701 Atlantic Avenue
After a day of canvassing in Virginia Beach, we’ll meet up at Chix on the Oceanfront at 6pm to share what we saw and heard at the doors!
Sun, Oct 6, 11am: Souls to the Polls in Chesapeake 910 Great Bridge Blvd
Chesapeake County has two hours for this Sunday voting—let’s get out the vote! A coalition of historically Black congregations and the NAACP will help get voters to the polls. We’ll flyer four key precincts where COVA Coalition has pre-postcarded. This is a literature drop, with canvassing turfs also available. So cool!
Recommended Hotel is the Hilton Doubletree in the Vibe District – Virginia Beach’s arts district about 8 blocks from the oceanfront.
Limited supporter lodging available with some of our COVA volunteers. Please indicate your need for lodging on your registration form and someone will reach out to you.
