Election 2024

It has been two years since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade.
“The anti-abortion movement is a war on poor women. Banning abortion at the state level means that those in need are often forced to travel to receive care. This requires not only the funds to travel for an abortion and pay for the procedure, which can cost upwards of $1,300, but also the ability to take time off work, find accommodations, or locate childcare.”
— Georgia Jensen, The Inequality Project

Actions You Can Take
Pennsylvania
Join Field Team 6 in calling eligible voters (likely Democrats) in PA! Making sure people are registered to vote, and that they can vote safely from home, is a super-effective way to make a difference. All training provided by Field Team 6 and volunteers. Sign up directly with FT6 to make calls on Thursdays, 4-6 pm. Pennsylvania Inactive Voter Project. This action is reaching thousands of voters who could be thrown off the voter rolls. This work has the potential to re-engage voters, providing them with information about how to re-register and get a mail-in ballot. Over 300,000 voters need to be contacted. Want to learn more?

Power Hour
Every Sunday from 3-5 pm via Zoom: Take an hour and make some calls. This week, we’re calling Dems in Meck County, NC. These are easy calls to build community by inviting known supporters to a social event in their neighborhood. Sign up here for more information (indicate your experience level and, if needed, we can schedule a training).
Generating enthusiasm among Democratic voters will boost turnout in November. Lean Left and two other groups have been calling Meck Dems to invite them to socials since February, and our calls last Sunday generated 127 YESes to a free cookout in July! Voters were happy we called; the calling tool is easy to learn, and support is provided. Join us this Sunday at 3 pm. You’ll be glad you did!
Lean Left Vermont builds a stronger, more just democracy by empowering Vermont activists to work on behalf of voters in other states. We promote meaningful, sustained actions that focus on supporting and protecting the vote and building democratic power at the local, state, and federal levels.
